Where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain? Lake Murray. Ardmore, Oklahoma.

If I were a human in the 1930s, I would have joined the Civilian Conservation Corps so I could help build Lake Murray State Park. I loved the beautiful clear lake and the rustic stone and timber buildings, thanks to the WPA and architect Herbert Maier. My family enjoyed the relaxing park lodge that extends over the water and the beautiful trails and views. I didn’t see any plains but the gentle wind sweeping from the lake ruffled my coat and made me happy.

Wildflowers, History and Smiles. Hill Country, Texas.

Nothing puts a bigger smile on this pup’s face than a visit from grammy and papa! Hill Country’s little towns poured on the charm, as we visited Fredericksburg, Luchenbach, Stonewall, Comfort, Kerrville, Boerne, and more! We loved the LBJ State and National Parks, the Mooney factory, and our visit to the Admiral Nimitz Museum. Plus, we listened to plenty of country music, enjoyed lots tasty Texas food, and feasted our eyes on the beautiful wildflowers blooming all around us!
